energydiluted Easily one of my top albums of the year, a fun ride that ages like fine wine with each listen. Really exciting to see how these guys evolving to something more ambitious. The style of this album is a complete left turn from their last album and is filled with incredible riffs and epic build-ups. If I were to say one critical thing it's that the band doesn't go hard ENOUGH with a couple of the songs and keeps them all pretty short. Here's to hoping they go longer and harder in the years to come. Favorite track: ancient one.
adonaischlup

adonaischlup A healthy trip in an unhealthy time. The dark themes creeping out from under the bouncy catchy melodies feel like a cautious wave to a light at the end of a very weird tunnel. Favorite track: wishbone.

krismacfalda Encourages me to enjoy myself more Favorite track: must be a cop.
Bats In the Attic.
Bats In the Attic. thumbnail
Bats In the Attic. Very nice just discovered. Its like the soundtrack to stepping back into life. It shimmers with laid back catchy songs. Its also an antidote to the doldrums fobbed off on us by this fear mongering lunacy over viruses and mandates etc. Favorite track: liked to party.

copelandcory For my money, the best dream pop record of the year. Favorite track: ancient one.

Inhale. Exhale. Mind your breathing. Squeeze your glutes together, and release. Pay no attention to the world on fire around you. This is fine.

Written in the most claustrophobic months of 2020, Husbands' third full-length record, "Full-On Monet", plays out like a meditation gone toxic. Densely layered. Lush pop melodies. Surf-rock harmonies. Distorted synth hooks and psychedelic flourishes. All of it coming together to create something that's free-spirited, brainy, fun - and simultaneously jarring, synthetic, and off-kilter. "From far away, it's OK, but up close, it's a big ol' mess."

Includes unlimited streaming of Full-On Monet via the free Bandcamp app, plus high-quality download in MP3, FLAC and more.

bad sign 02:50
Sybil gives her crystal vision futures in high definition Traces your hand on a bad line Keep a talisman for the end times   It's hard to keep to commitments based on lousy decisions Seven digits and a pound sign Silent judge on the sideline   Tell this to no one Give in to no one Tell this to no one Give in to no one   Okay yeah, okay alright Feels like a hot one here tonight  Glowing specks on the hillside Like Sausalito at twilight   Ugly end of a raw deal I know exactly how you feel Slip back into old habits We were just laughing about it   Tell this to no one give in to no one Tell this to no one Give in to no one   Roaring back with a vengeance Taking notes from a distance I come to you from the future Sorry, everything sucks here too

wishbone 03:25
Live in the Digital Age in the US of A Drowned in pink lemonade and tequila  Mantra repeats in a drawl   “Hit this one over the wall” Fast-walking olds at the mall Trying to steal ya
Mantra Repeat  “End all Wanting” Short side Wishbone Goodnight  Dead phone
Torch the old haunts Rescind the amends  Betrayed yourself once Now, do it again   Make it all up A beautiful lie Like when I told you I was The Truth in my time Talk to me, I know exactly how you feel Grocery run in an empty city

ancient one 02:53
sitting by the Ancient One she’s smoking cigarettes   waiting for the bus with a romance novelette a shirtless gentleman nestled in her breast says "I'll love you til i die"   adapting to the new age starting to repeat myself decorate this ole cage starting to repeat myself youth is just a mindset that I’ve put on the shelf but I’ll love you til I die
I could use a weekend head against the window stewing on the same things where did all the time go? I listened to your bootleg I'll horde it like Calypso   talking about the new age starting to repeat myself decorate this old cage starting to repeat myself I could use some new friends probably a weekend   banished to the Stone Age and history repeats itself decorate this old cave starting to repeat someone else did you hear the new song the very first one after the hiatus sorry, now the band sucks
 sorry, other band sucks

a part of me dies in each and every vibration  I heard it twice, so then twice did I die holding on tight as the last hour of light  sheds a fading reminder “you cannot abide”
I say to each their own however you must cope
caught em French kissing, busted cans o' biscuits  rolling on the floor with the folks out of town  time has a long winded way of saying no to things  You can’t cheat the system if the system is down  but it's writ on the wall like a poem in a stall as the new rock n roll goes straight to video I won't judge you for nothing just stay off of my toes I've heard you can really breathe in San Diego
