In 2017, Danny and I signed a lease for a spot in the Plaza District. We were going to open a tiny music bar called Wayne John. For lots of good reasons, Wayne John didn't happen at that time and in that place. "Wayne John" remains a utopian dream.

So, it felt fitting to name our collection of ATGRP b-sides and demos Wayne John. If you listen closely to this collection of b-sides (songs 1-12) and demos (13-17), written from 2015-2019, you'll hear the sound of two friends dreaming and trying to figure out how to make our best version of ourselves. These are our favorite songs that didn't make the album for various reasons. Some are songs we loved but felt didn't match our overall theme of ATGRP. Others we just couldn't get over the hump - there was some kind of issue (usually a recording/mixing one) we just couldn't resolve. Others just sounded like something just a little outside of the internal rules of the game that we mutually set for ourselves.

In any event, here is Wayne John, a behind the scenes-type view of the four years of building and rebuilding, collecting and discarding, that goes into making an album like ATGRP. We hope you enjoy it.
